What is the name of the movie I am thinking of?

It was in the local video rental store as of January 2009. It creeped me out too much so I quit watching, but I remember a TINY bit. It might have been a foreign film (I live in America). I thought the name was along the lines of "the fence" or "the tower." It featured a little sick boy in bed in a hospital. Except this hospital was quite weird. It was sort of surreal and dreamlike. There was a little girl that would come and visit the boy and he would tell her stories. I don't remember what it was exactly, and I don't really believe in such things but some of the imagery reminded me of the Satan concept or of Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter. I know this isn't much to go off of, but I thought it was worth a try before I spend hours scouring the internet. Thanks.
