What do you have to stay away from when having a pacemaker?

My father is getting a pacemaker inserted in early August and we would like to know what he needs to stay away from to be safe. I heard years ago that you can't go near magnets, microwave ovens etc. Can someone please let me know so I can p it onto him. Many thanks..Kerry
