Questions about Mexican(Mesoamerican) tribes?

I remember my history teacher talking about a tribe that was the most violent and powerful tribe during the time of the Mayans and Aztecs, he said the name of tribe meant "enemy of all," or something along those lines, I want to say it was the Tetons Sioux Tribes, but I'm not sure, any ideas?
